Perlitic chromium-molybdenum steel. Hardness 325-400HBW. Unlike manganese steels, this material is not subject to riveting action, which makes it easier to dismantle the lining. Depending on the application conditions, the service life can be 10-50% higher than that of manganese steel.

High-chromium white cast iron. Hardness >500HBW. Chromium content of 18%. Depending on the casting configuration and wall thickness, this can be additionally alloyed with molybdenum or nickel. The highest wear resistance of all metallic liners can be found in grinding mills without ball load.
