Wear-Part Materials for Gyratory and Cone Crushers
Mining Element manufactures wear parts from manganese austenitic steels, wear-resistant steels with high Brinell hardness, and high-chrome white iron.
Cone and bowl liners are usually produced in manganese grades A, C, D, D1, D2. Technologists select the alloy according to the operating conditions of the specific crusher. For especially hard and abrasive rocks, steel may be additionally alloyed with molybdenum, nickel, and titanium.
Austenitic Manganese Steel Grades
Classic Hadfield steel. High structural strength, average resistance to abrasive wear; hardness increases significantly under impact (work-hardening).
For less abrasive rocks of small and medium hardness. Increased ultimate strength with lower impact-toughness indicators; improved abrasive resistance due to higher surface hardness under work-hardening.
General-purpose grade. Improved formulation with added chromium. Hardness after heat treatment up to ~270 HB; up to ~20% higher abrasive wear resistance compared with Grade A.
Suitable for very hard, large feed; recommended for use at the first crushing stage. Increased toughness indicators.
Suitable for the most abrasive rocks; recommended for the second or third crushing stage. The highest abrasive-wear resistance in the Element manganese line.
Service Life, Warranty, and Compatibility
Mining Element offers standard spare parts for gyratory and cone crushers, as well as non-standard components produced to individual designs. The price includes warranty support. During industrial tests, the customer pays the full amount only if the parts achieve the declared operating time. If a manufacturing defect affects service life, Mining Element will supply a free replacement, provide a discount on the next order, or send a service engineer to the production site to resolve the issue.
