Olga Stepuk wins the international "Talented Woman in the Mining Industry" award.

Last year, Olga Stepuk, the head of the Wear-Resistant Materials department, reached the finals of the "Golden Idea of the Year" nomination with her idea for combined linings for transfer devices. In 2023, her solution took the first prize.

"Golden Idea of the Year" is a nomination featuring projects that have set trends in the mining industry. They have initiated positive changes in the industry.

Stepuk introduced six new products that are unparalleled in the Russian market today: wear-resistant steel plates with hard alloy tips made of tungsten carbide, high-chromium cast iron on a steel substrate, cast iron with ceramic inserts, rubber with wear-resistant steel, polyurethane with PEEK (polyether ether ketone), and impact-resistant bimetal. Olga's solutions allow for reduced relining time, extended maintenance intervals, lower equipment ownership costs, increased productivity of transfer and loading units, and consequently, enhanced overall economic efficiency of enterprises.

The award ceremony traditionally took place in Moscow at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. 100 finalists from 28 companies in Russia and the CIS received awards. This year, the competition received 451 applications from participants across 100 cities.
