Mining Element Seeks Collaboration for Localized Production
Specialists from Mining Element’s underground drilling division participated in the "MINEX Russia: People and Technology" conference, offering key observations on the state of the industry. They emphasized the urgent need for collaboration among domestic drilling equipment manufacturers to prevent rising production costs.
“Unlike their European counterparts, Russian companies are reluctant to collaborate. Instead, they focus on maintaining complete control over production. This push for a fully independent manufacturing cycle could drive up costs and limit market availability,” explained Andrey Novikov, Director of the Mining Equipment Department.
Dmitry Mikhaylov, Head of Product Management for Mining Equipment, warned that this trend risks stifling the healthy competition crucial for the market's long-term development.
Alongside the conference, the exhibition hosted nearly 100 mining, geological exploration companies, and providers of IT solutions and equipment, showcasing their innovations.
The event also tackled pressing issues like government support for building production facilities for geological exploration equipment and the growing workforce shortage in the industry.
